Jensen’s caterpillar turned chrysalis has now turned into a butterfly and flown away. As the first frosts hit us, we made a desperate attempt to feed it sugared water and half an orange segment. We left it on the pagoda in the sunlight with the flaps of its cage pegged up and it flew off, seemingly quite happy. Don’t know what it’s chances are (whether it will be able to hibernate) but we gave it the best shot we could. And, in the dazzling Autumnal sunshine, bright blue skies and crisp air, we whispered, fly like the wind, live like a Mayfly. Life is measured by its beauty, not its length.
